Perfect for new beginners and returning dancers!
Dancers are not required to take more than one class a week, but are welcome to! Classes begin the week of September 9th.
Description: In the Shining Shamrocks Program dancers will start their introductory exploration of Irish dancing. Dancers will build upon their gross motor skills while learning the traditional steps of Irish dancing. Dancers will learn the beginner reel, light jig, slip jig, and hop jig. In our hour long classes combine with our Mini Murph Program, dancers will learn basics of hard shoe dancing including trebles and stamps.

Drills and Technique
Saturday Feis Prep
Class Attire: Dancers are asked to wear either a leotard, tank top, or tshirt on top, with either a skirt, shorts, or leggings. No denim. Hair pulled back.
Shoes: Dancers are asked to wear socks or poodle socks (Irish dancing socks) with black ballet shoes or ghillies (Irish dancing shoes). We ask that you do not buy ballet shoes from local dance stores as they are often Scottish dancing shoes. Please contact Mary Devlin for proper Irish dancing ghillies.
Hard shoes are NOT required for this class. Although we will introduce hard shoe dancers are welcome to wear sneakers or tap shoes. If you wish to purchase hard shoes for your dancer, please contact Mary Devlin
Register Today: All Murphy Academy policies must be read and acknowledged digitally through our online registration. Completed registration includes: submitted registration form due by the time of first class, $25 registration fee and first month's tuition submitted online.
