Dancers are not required to take more than one class a week, but if planning to attend feisanna we highly recommend more than one class a week. During the Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday classes, dancers will be challenged and pushed to achieve their greatest potential. Looking for more classes? Email Bridget to arrange for the best class, or schedule a private lesson for your dancer. All class placements are subject to teacher approval. Classes begin the week of September 9th.
Description: During our Mini Murph classes, new beginner dancers will begin learning traditional Irish dancing soft shoe dances in the reel, light jig, slip jig, and hop jig. Dancers will begin to learn the basics and their first steps in the hard shoe including heavy jig and hornpipe. As they learn these steps, dancers will develop the proper technique and style of the dances. Returning dancers will begin to advance in their steps helping to advance them in their skill and feis placement. We love seeing how our returning dancers continue to advance every "step" of the way.

Class Attire: Dancers are asked to wear either a leotard, tank top, or tshirt on top, with either a skirt, shorts, or leggings. No denim. Hair pulled back.
Shoes: Dancers are asked to wear socks or poodle socks (Irish dancing socks) with black ballet shoes or ghillies (Irish dancing shoes). We ask that you do not buy ballet shoes from local dance stores as they are often Scottish dancing shoes. Please contact Mary Devlin for proper Irish dancing ghillies.
Hard shoes are required for Year 3 and experienced dancers, but not required for new beginners. Beginner dancers are able to wear sneakers or tap shoes. Dancers that do not have hard shoes will not be able to dance hard shoe in our end of the year showcase. If you wish to purchase hard shoes for your dancer, please contact Mary Devlin
