Feisanna

In addition to recreational Irish dancing, dancers enrolled in the Murphy Academy can also take their dancing to local competitions known as feisanna (gaelic meaning festival). At a feis, dancers perform their steps learned in class. Feisanna are a great way to showcase a dancer's skill throughout the year and continue their progress. Dancers are not required to attend a feisanna unless they would like to.

Championships

The Murphy Academy has produced accomplished competitive dancers who have qualified at the Regional, National, and World levels. Beyond feisanna, dancers may qualify for championships that can take them all over the globe. Our dancers have competed in the Regional Championships (Oireachtas), National Championships, All Ireland Championships, and the World Championships of Irish Dancing.
