Our Irish Dancing Programs

The Murphy Academy ensures all dancers receive an Irish dancing education tailored to fit their age and ability level in a fun, family friendly environment. All programs are designed to fit dancers that aspire to dance recreationally and/or competitively.

Our Saturday Mini Murphs — "We love Irish dance!"

Little Jiggers

Dancers Ages 2.5-4

Our little jiggers program is designed for your tiny dancer to have so much fun learning their first steps. Dancers improve their gross motor skills, while developing the basics and fundamentals of Irish dance.

Mini Murph

Beginner Dancers Ages 5+

Our Mini Murph program is designed for your dancer to learn their skip 2,3s, hop over 2,3s, and their basic reel and light jig steps. Dancers will have so much fun building friendships and their skills all while developing the fundamentals of Irish dance.

Advanced Beginner I

Returning Dancers Ages 6+

This program is for dancers that have taken Irish dancing for at least one year. Dancers will learn more advanced steps and an introduction to hard shoe.

Advanced Beginner II/NoviCe i

Returning Dancers

This program is for dancers that have at least one year of hard shoe lessons and/or received a placement in either an advanced beginner or novice competition. Dancers will work to improve their technique and advanced steps.

NoviCe ii/Prizewinner

Returning Dancers

This program is for dancers that have at least one year of novice-level instruction and/or have placed in all light and hard shoe dances at feisanna in novice. Dancers will work to improve their technique and advanced steps.

Preliminary/Open Championship

Returning Dancers

This program is for dancers that have achieved the highest levels at a feis. This is a more intensive program designed for accomplished dancers to continue to build their skill and improve their dancing in a nurturing environment.
